Public Mintlify documentation

Published: 2026-09-26. Tags: Docs. The HTML documentation and generated API reference are now hosted at docs.beliefstate.ai and available without sign-in. Public Markdown pages, llms.txt, and the Mintlify documentation MCP endpoint are also accessible without authentication. BeliefState research requests still require their documented account access.
  • Old /docs/* HTML links redirect to the hosted pages. BeliefState’s /docs/*.md, /docs.md, and /docs/mcp remain available for existing machine clients.
  • The entries below describe earlier releases of the local documentation site. Some local HTML features, including its custom sidebar and search interface, were retired during the move.
  • Hand-written guides require review when API behavior or coverage changes. The generated API reference uses the published OpenAPI contract.

A smaller research API

Published: 2026-09-09. Tags: Docs, API, MCP. One ticker research view, one belief query, one source directory and one coverage query replace overlapping standalone operations.
  • The data API now has four resources: /v1/brief, /v1/beliefs, /v1/sources and /v1/tickers. /v1/status remains an access utility. Eleven standalone routes are retired without aliases.
  • Use belief_id on /v1/beliefs for full claims, evidence, revisions and outcomes. Use changed_since and person_id for filtered records. Source search, domain and ID selection are filters on /v1/sources.
  • MCP and A2A expose get_brief, get_beliefs and get_tickers. Refresh discovery and regenerate clients. The four API documentation entries are direct links without duplicate group headings.

Automatic documentation social previews

Published: 2026-09-04. Tags: Docs. Page-specific social cards now make shared documentation links identifiable before opening them.
  • Every documentation URL now generates its own 1200 by 630 social preview automatically.
  • Open Graph and X metadata use the canonical page title, description, and URL instead of the generic site card.
  • The page catalog remains the single content source, so new documentation pages inherit previews without manual artwork or configuration.

Documentation freshness metadata

Published: 2026-09-04. Tags: Docs. Freshness metadata now tells people and agents when each documentation contract was last updated.
  • Every documentation page now shows an exact, content-owned last-updated date.
  • Human pages, per-page Markdown, search, and the full LLM corpus read the same freshness metadata.
  • Documentation checks reject missing, malformed, future, or stale dates, while scheduled health checks detect source changes newer than the declared date.

API documentation versioning

Published: 2026-09-04. Tags: Docs, API. Version context now makes the active API contract explicit without inventing an unsupported documentation snapshot.
  • Every documentation page now shows the supported v1 API contract with a Latest status.
  • A versioning reference distinguishes the route version, OpenAPI publication, payload schema, and endpoint lifecycle.
  • Multi-version navigation activates only after a separate historical or new-major snapshot exists; no fake history is presented.

API lifecycle notices

Published: 2026-09-04. Tags: Docs, API. API lifecycle labels and migration notices now make contract status explicit before integration.
  • Release-gated API references now carry visible Preview labels on endpoint pages and in navigation.
  • Deprecated operations can publish an announcement date, optional removal date, replacement endpoint, and ordered migration steps.
  • Human pages and machine-readable Markdown now expose the same API lifecycle state without adding visitor tracking.

Changelog tag filtering

Published: 2026-09-04. Tags: Docs. Shareable tag filters now make product changes easier to scan by surface.
  • Changelog tags now filter human-readable updates with multi-select AND matching.
  • Filter state lives in the URL, supports browser Back, and keeps unrelated query parameters intact.
  • Zero-result combinations provide a clear recovery while Markdown and RSS remain complete.

Synchronized code language

Published: 2026-09-04. Tags: Docs, API. API reference pages now remember one privacy-safe request-language preference.
  • Selecting a request-example language now keeps that choice across every API reference page and browser reload.
  • Open documentation tabs synchronize the same language preference without account or visitor tracking.
  • Invalid or unavailable browser storage fails safely to cURL while the current tab remains usable.

Reusable documentation snippets

Published: 2026-09-03. Tags: Docs. Reusable documentation content now keeps human and machine surfaces aligned by construction.
  • Eleven static documentation pages now render their sections from one typed reusable-snippet registry.
  • Human pages, page navigation, per-page Markdown, and llms-full.txt now consume the same canonical content.
  • The documentation checker rejects missing pages, orphaned snippets, duplicate anchors, invalid section IDs, and malformed shared tables.

Machine-readable documentation

Published: 2026-09-03. Tags: Docs, MCP. Agents can discover, search, and read the same current documentation humans see.
  • Every public documentation page now has a stable .md URL and Accept-header content negotiation.
  • llms-full.txt now contains the complete documentation corpus, while llms.txt stays a concise directory.
  • A public documentation MCP exposes search, read, resources, and bounded feedback.

Unified capability discovery

Published: 2026-09-03. Tags: API, Agents. One capability registry now keeps machine interfaces and their discovery metadata aligned.
  • REST, MCP, A2A, pricing operations, and documentation references now derive shared intelligence metadata from one capability catalog.
  • Well-known API, MCP, A2A, and Agent Skills discovery documents now advertise implemented interfaces.
  • Four digest-verifiable Agent Skills cover setup, security research, provenance audits, and comparable source history.

Documentation feedback loop

Published: 2026-09-03. Tags: Docs. Search and feedback now produce a small, privacy-bounded documentation improvement loop.
  • Documentation search now ranks full page content, recognizes common intent aliases and typos, and shows a matching excerpt.
  • Unknown documentation URLs keep a 404 status and offer likely page matches.
  • Feedback excludes account and visitor identity. Contextual actions record only the action type and documentation page.
  • Every page includes a top-of-page Use with AI menu for Markdown, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Cursor, VS Code, and the public docs MCP server.
